The Newdale Fire Trainer, located in Burnsville, NC, is a state-of-the-art, Conex-based training facility designed to provide firefighters with realistic, repeatable, and safe training scenarios. The trainer features a Multi-Connection Rappel Tree for rope operations, patent-pending burn rooms engineered for consistent fire behavior, a custom breach door for forcible entry, and a hydraulic-powered mobile vent prop that allowed flexible roof ventilation training. Additional elements included a functional standpipe, Denver window, cable-operated vent system, and integrated cleanouts for efficient maintenance and quick resets. Together, these custom-built components created a versatile environment that supported both fundamental skills and advanced multi-company drills, ensuring Yancey County firefighters have the tools and resources needed to train effectively and safely.
